I'm told it would be safer to warn everyone now - I'm Cornish, and I live in a valley where people still point at aeroplanes and a faggot is a convenience food.
Well, you should probably know a little about me and my gaming habit;
I was introduced to wargaming at around 12, (years old, not O'clock today) with an old friend's acquisition of some little blue men made by a pokey new company called Games Workshop.
Pretty soon I fell into the Space Marine trap and played Warhammer 40k solidly for some 5 years, eventually fielding Black Templars, Imperial Guardsmen and finally settling on Orks, with which I still dabble today.
These many forces were only played inside stores or casually with friends, until I had the good fortune of being introduced to the clan of Neil Sharp, commonly known as the legendary Gonks, and became a founder member of West Cornwall Games Club, the first of its kind this far south.
Of course by now I was well along the slippery slope and expanded into Warhammer Fantasy Battle, pulling a sizable force of Empire together, Necromunda brought Judge Dredd-alike enforcers along and Blood Bowl produced the mighty Talabheim Titans (current record 12-3).
More recently I am a proud convert to Warmachine, currently collecting Protectorate of Menoth, raring to burn the heathens, as well as using a friend's Legion of Everblight for Hordes.
Upcoming collections appear to include 28mm WW2, planning for some U.S. 2nd Ranger Btn, and Royal Marines / Royal Navy for Cutlass!, an unreleased fantasy/pirate skirmish.
Besides all this avid modelling, I am often found at gaming shows and conventions across southern England in support of Gonks in his capacity as the local rep for the Gaming Club Network, and have just returned from demonstrating a new system, Relics, in Plymouth. I'm also due to attend many more events in the coming year.
Phew. Back in the 'real world' I can also be found engaging in many a pursuit, from shooting, fishing, PC Gaming (formerly competitively), working for the Royal British Legion and staying up to watch the great game of American Football (or, depending on your outlook, the silly game of yankee hand-egg).
So, that's Smiffee, I hope to keep this blog updated with pics and reports of my many distractions in life, and I look forward to any comments / feedback anyone wants to send.
